DKY Community Framework: TLC in Communities

Talk • Listen • Connect

TALK

·        Speak directly and responsibly about suicide

·        Reduce stigma and normalize checking in

LISTEN

·        Listen for warning signs and emotional pain

·        Avoid fixing, minimizing, or debating

CONNECT

·        Stay present

·        Bridge to trusted people, 988, or emergency care

·        Ensure follow-up

*TLC is not clinical treatment. It is a moment-of-need framework with clear role boundaries and built-in protection for those offering support.

DKY - The 4 Hour Keeper Model

Evidence & Theory Based

Research shows suicidal crises are brief, volatile, and time-limited, frequently peaking within 1–4 hours. Presence and connection during this window can interrupt escalation and save lives.

What Is a 4 Hour Keeper

An Keeper is someone who commits to staying steady, present, and connected during the critical 4 Hour Window—without trying to fix or rescue.

A Keeper does not solve the problem.
A Keeper ensures no one faces crisis alone.

The Movement – Coming Soon!

The 4 Hour Keeper Initiative transforms awareness into action

·        Pledge to be Someone’s 4 Hour Keeper (4HRS 4U)

Creating a scalable cultural movement, not just a message.

DKY - The Stuart Project

Community Platform for Survivors of loved ones lost to suicide providing opportunities to share testimonies & stories to provide connection and resources – Platform Coming Soon.

Our success is measured not only in avoided incidents, but in:

·       Earlier intervention

·       Reduced silence and stigma

·       Increased confidence to act

·       People feeling safe, supported, and connected in their communities

DKY exists so that no one has to face their hardest hours alone.
